To Adopt a Pet

• You must have proof of ownership or rental agreement that specifies pets are allowed before OCHS staff will take the dogs out of the cage.

• All pets must be spayed or neutered upon adoption

• Prices vary according to the needs of the animal

• Parents must accompany children at all times while inside the shelter area

Other Pet Choosing Tips

• The dogs get very agitated when first brought out of their cage. Try to get them outside of the shelter area and give them time to calm down before making your final decision.

• The most frequent reason for dogs brought to the Humane Society is landlords don't allow pets. Please make sure your rental agreement allows pets before adopting.

• When you do make a choice, remember, you adopt this pet for life.
